中心主任黄海峰教授主持了美国约翰－霍普金斯大学Anne Thurston教授报告会

应北京工业大学中国经济转型研究中心主任黄海峰教授与约翰斯－霍普金斯大学北京校友会的邀请，美国约翰斯－霍普金斯大学Anne Thurston教授于2004 年7月22日在北京工业大学经济与管理学院三楼会议室作了题为“China Rural Economic and Political Development”的学术报告。

报告会由北京工业大学中国经济转型研究中心主任黄海峰教授主持，报告采用英文讲述了她和她的学生及NGO的研究团队在青海和甘肃的研究情况，并义务为当地人民做了大量的工作。报告后Anne Thurston教授与大家共同讨论了一些当今的农村经济和政策方面的热点问题。

主讲人介绍（Introduction of Prof. Anne Thurston）：

Writes for journals and newspapers including Atlantic Monthly, China Business Review , Wilson Quarterly, China Journal, Washington, Post, Boston Globe and Christian Science Monitor; served as consultant to the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations; Researcher at the Fairbank Center for East Asian Research at Harvard University; Staff director for China programs at the Social Science Research Council. She is in charge of Project about Social consequences of China's economic reforms. She obtained Ph.D. at University of California , Berkeley. Publications: A Chinese Odyssey: The Life and Times of Chinese Dissident Enemies of the People; The Ordeal of China's Intellectuals during the Great Cultural Revolution; The Private Life of Chairman Mao.
